Principal's MessageMay, 2012 Dear Gold Trail Families, One of my favorite joys of being principal of Gold Trail is to experience our Graduation Ceremony each year. It never grows old to see a new group of students, who have been educated and nurtured within this family we call Gold Trail, become part of the history and traditions that all families hold dear. During our presentations, we remind them of the stories of this place; of families, pioneers and adventurers who added their presence to native cultures from the 1800’s and before. We acknowledge that they too are Trailblazers, with lives and adventures ahead. Gold Trail is unique in that sense – all of us are part of a marvelous family and story. For the past 27 years it has been my honor to have been included in the Gold Trail experience. I arrived with a toddler and an infant, a young working mother/teacher joining the staff, joyful to find such a wonderful place to work and for our family to grow. We all now look back with fondness over those years and will always know we were blessed by that time in our lives. Now it is my time also, to become part of the history and traditions that are the lore of this place. I could not have had a greater privilege, than to have had the honor of sharing these past years with the children, staff, and families of Gold Trail. With Sincere Thanks, STEPHANY REWICK Principal
PERFORMING ARTS AT GOLD TRAILOn Saturday, April 30, 2012, Gold Trail students took part in a music competition called “Music in the Parks” in Vallejo. Our Beginning Jazz Band, Advanced Jazz Band, Saxophone Society, Jazz Combo, 6th Grade Band, and our 7/8 concert Band all participated. Our talented students won 6 group awards, and three individual awards. The best part of the competition, however, was when they received the Espirit De Corp award. This award goes to the top school for the entire festival which included both junior high and high schools. It is given for the school demonstrating the highest standards of excellence on stage and off. We thank our students for representing our community with such an outstanding effort. We are extremely proud of them. Our School's MissionWe strive to make Gold Trail School a place where students, parents, and staff work together to provide a positive, caring, and safe place where each student can achieve his or her personal best. |
